Join a brand new service as a Ward Clerk and be part of a newly-formed dedicated team at The Lakefield Neurological Centre in Chigwell, which is opening early 2024.

If you're an experienced and skilled administrator with healthcare experience - ideally working on the wards - then you will be well suited to this role.

As a Ward Clerk you will provide a proactive and flexible range of ward and clinical general administration to the Ward Manager and the wider MDT team, which will include answering the ward phone, adding meetings, planning service user leave and appointments to the ward diary. You'll also drive best practice and ensure compliance with company procedures and documented policies.  

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining service user files and notes, including the filing, scanning, archiving, recording, updating and uploading of patient information on the electronic service user information system
  • Assisting Ward Managers with typing duties, updating contact lists and entering supervision data
  • General upkeep and organisation of ward offices, ensuring that all ward areas are supplied with necessary clinical forms, stationary etc.
  • Arranging meetings for the wards, including attending and producing minutes of ward meetings
  • Maintaining ward compliance and maintaining data
  • General administration duties such as photocopying, filing, archiving, scanning
  • Providing efficient support to the ward, working in collaboration with the Medical Secretaries and ward staff to ensure that the ward offices are kept in a tidy manner and helping to support the smooth running of the service.

Where you will be working:

The Lakefields Neurological Centre is a brand-new 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life. The Centre specialises in neuro-rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care.

Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.
