Vocational Assessor - HMP Five Wells

Weston College Group has secured a long-term education contract at HMP Five Wells located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. We are seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Vocational Assessor to join our team in Education.

Day to day of the role

• To deliver industry recognised qualifications within prison industries including but not limited to Warehousing, Manufacturing Operations and Customer Service.
  
  
• Organisational and administrative work.
  
  
• Preparation, assessment and marking.
  
  
• Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.

Required skills and qualifications

• Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Vocational Assessors Award - new V awards (TDLB D32/33/34 and maybe D36)
  
  
• Experience of working with offenders in/out of custody.
  
  
• Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning and assessment strategies.
  
  
• Excellent computer literacy skills including an up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Office.

In partnership with G4S, RESTART (part of the Weston College Group) has been awarded the prestigious contract to establish the education department in the newly built state-of-the-art prison, HMP Five Wells. RESTART provides exceptional opportunities for residents to gain nationally recognised qualifications, in preparation for securing purposeful employment upon release.

HMP Five Wells is a privately run category C men's prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. At full capacity the prison can house 1,680 residents, making it one of the largest prisons in the UK.

The education department offers a range of Academic, Vocational and Creative courses to support residents with their future career aspirations.
