Pay rate: £90.00 - £105.00 per day depending on experience

Setting: Mainstream Secondary School

Start date: Immediate start

Duration: Long term with view to go permanent

Active Recruitment are working with an Outstanding mainstream Secondary school in Newham who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a child in year 7 with visual impairment. The school is very welcoming and friendly in addition to providing a safe, inclusive environment for all students to feel valued.

The purpose of the role is to provide on-going support and guidance to a pupil in key stage 3 with visual impairment. The school require a Teaching Assistant with experience in using Braille in order to offer the necessary support to this particular pupil.

Requirements:

• Experience in supporting young people with visual impairments
• Experience in using Braille
• The confidence to work independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Skills to work appropriately and effectively with individual students
• Able to promote their social and emotional development
• Able to respond calmly and effectively to displayed behaviours
