Virtual School Education Officer

Start date - ASAP

Contract length - Initially 3 months

Hours per week - 37 hours per week

Rate of pay - £221ltd per day

The London Borough of Hillingdon are seeking a Virtual School Education Officer to join their team. As a Virtual School Education Officer, you will manage a caseload of Looked After Children to ensure that they have the support in place to overcome barriers to their learning so that they achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of around 35 Looked After Children
  • Track and monitor progress and attendance
  • Arrange and chair Personal Education Planning meetings
  • Agree targets and action plans to support education
  • Provide support to foster carers and residential home key workers, social workers, personal advisors and designated teachers/student support services in schools and colleges

Requirements:

  • Experience in working with Looked After Children
  • Knowledge of the education system and the challenges faced by Looked After Children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Education or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desirable
  • Experience in working with Looked After Children
