Vehicle Technician

Role: Technician / Mechanic
Location: Wigan
Pay: £28,000 - £36,000

Richard Abson Group are currently assisting an esteemed client who are offering a fantastic opportunity as a Technician to join their Wigan dealership.

Hours: 8:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday and 1 in 3 Saturdays on rota

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out vehicle services and repairs
• Examining vehicles and diagnosing non-routine defects
• Reporting defects against Department of Environment (MOT) and Vehicle Safety Report (VSR) standards
• Carrying out jobs within budgeted time, maintaining your own productivity
• Taking responsibility for daily maintenance of tools and equipment, reporting any defects
• Working in accordance with key Centre processes
• Liaising with customers directly where relevant and appropriate
• Coaching and supporting apprentice technicians, explaining, guiding and enabling others to learn
• Attending specialised training as required

About You:

• A full UK driving licence
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Flexible work hours required to carry out the role effectively and occasional travel
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in motor vehicle maintenance (or comparable)
• Previous work experience within an automotive repair environment is preferable
