Vehicle Technician

At Rapid, we provide vehicle rentals to private hire minicab drivers. From Rapid HQ in Gravesend we service over 1000 rentals per year with a fleet of owned and well maintained cars.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to undertake some of our more regular and routine fleet maintenance such as replacement tyres, brakes and servicing.

Working closely with the Fleet Manager, the Vehicle Technician will receive instructions to carry out routine maintenance jobs to maximise vehicle rental availability and reliability.

Role: Vehicle Technician

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Gravesend

Salary: up to £35,000 DOE

What you will be doing:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical issues and provide appropriate solutions
• Inspect and test vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition
• Use hand tools and power tools to complete repairs and replacements
• Keep accurate and organised records of all work performed
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role
• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
• Confidence in working independently as well as collaboratively
