Vehicle technician/engineer

Hull - workshop & field based

Full-time, permanent

£28k+ dependent on experience (with additional overtime & on-call rates)

Our client, an industry-leading vehicle engineering firm, is looking for vehicle service technicians/engineers for its team based in Hull, responsible for servicing and maintaining a commercial vehicle fleet. This will involve fault diagnosis and repair on company and customer assets, with mobile servicing and breakdown support. Successful candidates will receive full training and gain accredited industry qualifications as part of employment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examining equipment and assets, reporting on the condition, safety and reliability.
  • Identifying and reporting on defects and potential component failures.
  • Servicing and repair of customer vehicle equipment, obtaining all appropriate authorisation before undertaking work.
  • One evening per week and one weekend in six (rota) on-call duties, attending breakdowns and service callouts (extra allowance given)

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of servicing vehicles or plant equipment desirable
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical technician/engineer background
  • Experience of being on-call advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
