Location: Bovington
Salary: £28,942pa (£33k - £40k OTE)
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 37 hours per week + Plenty of optional overtime on Friday and Saturday with flexi hours between 6am and 6pm

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit multiple Vehicle Electricians on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Bovington depot.

The Vehicle Electrician isn't an ordinary Electrician position. This position will provide an opportunity to work on some fantastic military vehicles and enhance your mechanical knowledge on the wider spectrum in addition to offering exceptional career advancement opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and technical publications.
  • Diagnostic, inspect and assess vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical equipment in line skills & competency.
  • Ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current ERP processes and that work completed and time taken to complete the job is submitted daily to the department /section Supervisor.
  • Creation of job cards and demanding material where the relevant ERP (Baan) training has been completed.
  • Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates / reports to current standards.
  • Ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose and un-used or new faulty material is returned to the section / department Team Leader as soon as it is identified.
  • Maintain the requirements of COSHH, Health & Safety and other statutory regulations.
  • Ensure a good standard of housekeeping, cleanliness and safety in the work area is maintained at all times.
  • Comply with local policy on the correct disposal of hazardous or waste products.
  • Ensure personal tools and workshop equipment is maintained in good serviceable order and report any faults to the section / department Supervisor.
  • Inform the section Supervisor of any issues which directly effect the repair process and any additional work to the task which is not detailed on the job card is deemed necessary to complete the task.
  • Consult Supervisor regarding any problems affecting Quality or Health & Safety.
  • Provide support across internal trade boundaries and Mobile Support Teams (MST) on a voluntary basis.
  • Execute other minor duties commensurate with grade and post on occasional basis as detailed by his / her Line Management chain.



Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have completed recognised Military or Civillian training in the relevant trade discipline or a recognised accredited Apprenticeship in relevant discipline.
  • Attained at least one of the following minimum accedemic qualifications:
  • City & Guilds Level 1, 2 & 3 (in the relevant trade discipline)
  • ONC (in the relevant trade discipline)
  • NVQ Level 3 (in the relevant trade discipline)
