Underwriting Assistant Financial Institutions - £35,000 - £45,000 - City/Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global Insurance company as an Underwriting Assistant in their Financial Institutions team.

You will be given full training and will hold an important role in a small team, working in a friendly office environment

The underwriting team are responsible for the pricing, administration, and renewal of customer’s policies both directly and /or via their insurance broker.

The role will involve policy administration including cancellations, invoicing, general correspondence, and telephone enquiries.

The role requires excellent communication and customer service skills at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and assess quote requests within the published service level agreement.
  • Obtain additional information by contacting the customer or the broker if necessary.
  • Follow up quotations and negotiate final price with the customer or broker.
  • Set up policies after ensuring that all required information has been provided.
  • Underwrite applications where appropriate, with assistance.
  • Issue policies with appropriate documents.
  • Review claims history of each policy due for renewal.
  • Issue renewal terms and follow up.
  • Negotiate renewal with customer or broker reacting to market feedback if applicable.
  • General policy administration.
  • Promote the best image for the company and adhere to company standards and procedures.
