M&A Underwriter

My client, a leading specialist insurer, is currently looking for an M&A Underwriter to join their growing M&A team, working directly with the Head of. The appetite for the business will be in the niche of Real Estate and Title risks and will consist of dealings with well-known London market brokers.

Salary: circa £85,000
Location: City of London
Hybrid: Yes

Within this role, you will be contributing to the strategic growth plans by delivering high-quality reinsurance and M&A underwriting services. You will be developing and strengthening relationships with a variety of clients, solicitors, and brokers throughout the EU and London M&A markets to help further establish yourself and the company.

Key duties:
- Cultivate profitable business in line with the Underwriting Business Plan.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of policy coverage and discuss confidently with external and internal
customers.
- Contribute towards, and where necessary, lead internal meetings as required in order to share and
develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
- Negotiate and maximise business profitability by means of effective underwriting decisions and
techniques.
- Review, evaluate, and price cases, especially the more complex risks.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of underwriters.
- Mentor less experienced members of the underwriting team on market conditions, competitors,
relationship management and develop their technical proficiency.

The right candidate would have a level of technical expertise in underwriting M&A transactions, as well as a good knowledge of the UK and EU Real Estate markets.
