Digital Underwriter - Automotive Protection

(London/Hybrid Flexible Working)

Following sustained and continued growth we have an exciting, newly created opportunity to join our successful Automotive Protection Digital Underwriting team, based in London. Providing affinity insurance solution to the automotive and finance sectors, this is a global, market leading book of business with a broad risk appetite and multiple well-establish client relationships. Our focus is on the global automotive sector, working with vehicle manufacturers, financial institutions and affinity groups, digitally distributing bespoke, high quality insurance products that enhance our client's brand loyalty and boost long-term revenue. Focusing on developing new business and supporting existing clients, you will work amongst an experienced team to provide digital underwriting expertise.

Your Role:
  • Underwrite business within personal underwriting authority to deliver Business Plan objectives
  • Participate in all relevant meetings in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice
  • Perform underwriting duties in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements and Automotive Protection Underwriting procedures
  • Negotiate rates and terms and conditions for existing and new business
  • Support/Build Client Distribution & Engagement Plans
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including customers, clients, brokers, business partners and colleagues that leverage QBE's proposition as the most consistent and innovative risk partner
  • Collaborate with the wider regional teams to deliver cross class client solutions and engagement
  • Work with other functions within the business to deliver customer focused solutions, including Legal, Compliance, Claims, Operations and
About You:
  • Experience in extended warranty/GAP/affinity industry, either in an underwriting or data analysis related capacity
  • An understanding of market trends in the global automotive industry
  • Good relationship management through interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your tasks to gain maximum outcome
  • Innovation in your digital underwriting approach and programme design, along with an open mindset to be able to adapt and grow with the ever-changing market
