An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trust Manager to join a dynamic Private Client practice. This role offers the chance to work within a multi-disciplinary team, including tax specialists and solicitors, managing various trusts' compliance affairs. The position is primarily compliance-based, following the standard tax compliance calendar. It involves regular client contact and requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to take ownership of the role.

What you'll do:
As a Trust Manager, you will play an integral role in the Private Client practice. You will manage various trusts' compliance affairs, working closely with tax specialists and solicitors. Your responsibilities will include managing annual trust accounts completion, tax return compliance, preparing for trustee meetings, acting as a point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries, and intermediaries, dealing with beneficiary payments, and handling registrations under the Trust Registration Service. Your strong attention to detail and technical expertise will enable you to excel in this role.

  • Managing the annual trust accounts completion and tax return compliance using CCH tax software
  • Preparing for and attending trustee meetings and as necessary meetings with investment managers and other professionals
  • Acting as a point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries and intermediaries
  • Dealing with payments of beneficiaries, liaising with investment managers etc
  • Registrations under the Trust Registration Service and other related matters as necessary
  • Preparation of estate accounts and tax returns would be helpful but not necessary
  • Preparation of IHT Returns for 10 year charges and exit charges would be helpful but not necessary


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Trust Manager role will bring prior experience in trust management. You will have excellent attention to detail and technical expertise in managing annual trust accounts completion and tax return compliance. Your communication skills will enable you to act as a point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries, and intermediaries. Experience in dealing with beneficiary payments is essential. Knowledge of Trust Registration Service registrations is also desirable.
