A well-respected national law firm ranked in the top 100 are looking for a Trust Manager to join their National Legal Team in Leeds who are regarded as some of the best in their field. They are looking for a Trust Manager to join their Leeds team due to the substantial growth within the business. As a successful candidate, you will assist the management of trusts across their Private Client National Service Line. Your responsibilities will include:
Tax planning advice regarding all aspects of trusts
Inheritance tax calculations
Management and administration of complex trusts to include maintenance and preparations of all related accounting records and HMRC returns
FATCA/CRS/Trust Register reporting
The ideal candidate:
You will be an experienced Trust Accountant or Manager with previous experience within a Law Firm or Accountancy Firm
Have experience supervising more junior members
You must have detailed knowledge of HMRC's Trust Registration Service (TRS) registration requirements and keep your knowledge up to date by following HMRC guidance
Excellent record management skills are essential to ensure that our internal trust records are up to date, and you must have the ability to advise trustees on their responsibilities under TRS reporting and wider tax reporting, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and stamp duty
STEP, CIOT or AAT qualified
Solid previous experience of preparing sets of trusts accounts
You will be skilled at Excel, have impeccable file management, and be able to effectively and efficiently manage all matters
Knowledge of CCH software desirable
