Summary

We’re recruiting for a Treasury & Funding Senior Accountant to join our Treasury team on 12-month FTC.

The Trust is a large and complex charity but the basic model upon which it runs is simple, we provide people with access to beautiful or historic places that provide physical and spiritual refreshment; people join the Trust, visit, and donate money which is invested in conservation and access. It is a virtuous circle. The more income we generate, the more we can spend on the places in our care and to pursue our wider plans.

Strong and sustainable finances are central to the success of an organisation whose core purpose is to protect special places for ever, for everyone. The Treasury team plays a key role in the Trust supporting a broad spectrum of areas as one of the few Finance teams that interacts with regional and central teams within and outside of Finance.

In this role you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference to our charitable cause and to work on exciting and impactful projects making a lasting difference to the nation’s heritage.

What you'll be doing

The Commercial Loan programme consists of over £100m investment into commercial growth projects funded through internal loans. You will play a vital part in the continued success of the programme through reviewing & challenging new project proposals, allocating funding, monitoring operational performance of existing projects and administering the loan book.

Through this work you will also develop useful insight to inform future decision making and strategic direction on commercial projects.

You will also assist the Treasury Funding Manager to ensure the day-to-day cash reserves are managed in an efficient and optimal manner through the preparation and monitoring of both short and longer term cash flow forecasts.

Treasury is an evolving function and you will also have the opportunity to shape innovative areas the team is supporting heading into the launch of new 10-year strategy.
