Transport & Installation Engineer Offshore Export Cable

The scope of work is as follows:-

Being experienced and responsible as the export cable installation technical interface between the relevant internal and external stakeholders, in all phases of the of the windfarms lifetime including but not limited to:
* Route Engineering
* Offshore Substation design and installation interfaces
* Landfall methodology
* Export Cable route preparation and methodologies
* Export Cable Load-Out and Transport methodologies
* Cable Installation, protection and burial methodologies
* Being the technical export cable installation interface towards the Offshore Installation Contractors.
* Support the Installation Manager, manage day-to-day coordination and communicate with the Contractor, MWS, Client Representatives etc.
* Support the lessons learned process ensuring that corrective actions are both documented and implemented.
* During prequalification and ITT delivery, support the procurement process regarding:
* Technical content to be included in the Employer's Requirements for the relevant scope including installation specifications and requirements.
* Conduct the technical contract negotiations and ensure that the Employer's Requirements, interface documents and Conditions of Contract are developed into contract versions,
* Review, compare, evaluate and acceptance of bid submissions, method statements, risk assessments, safety procedures and design reports recommending additional analytical considerations if necessary.
* Keep abreast of technical developments to ensure that Employer's technical standards remain current.

Skills

* 3-5 years relevant experience working Offshore Transport & Installation of Subsea power cables including :
* Experience with marine risk management and the Marine Warranty Survey process;
* Knowledge of cable installation vessels, burial equipment, installation tools and methodologies as well as relevant offshore codes and standards;
* An understanding of Geological Constraints including cable protection and installation systems, which include ''CPS's'', burial equipment, seabed and cable stabilisation, mattress and crushed rock installation, etc. would be beneficial.
* The ability to apply sound judgement to make decisions in challenging situations;
* Personal motivation with the ability to communicate effectively while remaining focused on the challenges;
* A good command of the English language, both spoken and written.

Education
* A first degree in a relevant discipline or Master Mariner with professional experience. A relevant second degree qualification ,as well as professional chartership through a recognised Institution, could also be beneficial.
