Our client is a large and prestigious London-headquartered international law firm with a formidable reputation for its expertise in Intellectual Property (IP).

The firm's team of specialist Lawyers based globally assists the world's foremost companies to use their IP to protect their investment, to secure and maintain competitive advantage, and to obtain commercial outcomes.

The firm's IP transactional practice is currently recruiting for a junior Lawyer in response to an increased volume of transactional IP work. Volume has increased because of the IP-driven value of many of the firm's clients' key transactions - both those clients managed by the IP Team directly, and via the corporate practice.

The requirement is for a junior non-contentious IP Lawyer, with experience ideally including:

  • The IP aspects of M&A transactions and complex commercial agreements.
  • Technology transfer, assignment and licensing.
  • IP-led collaboration agreements.
  • IP aspects of software or IT contracts.

The London IP transactional practice works closely within the firm's market leading corporate practice, with innovation, tech and brand-led transactions being a key and significant area of growth. The London IP practice is currently working on several significant IP-led transactions and collaborations across a variety of sectors, including the tech, energy, consumer and pharma sectors.

In order to be considered for this sensational role you will have:

  • A strong academic background and qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales (although commonwealth-qualified candidates will be considered).
  • A minimum of 1 year's post-qualification experience of IP transactions, which should include providing advice on the IP aspects of at least some of:
    • A wide range of commercial transactions
    • Mergers and acquisitions (and specifically including the associated due diligence and negotiation and settlement of transaction documents)
    • Collaboration agreements and licensing arrangements (including branding arrangements and software/technology licensing)
  • Strong foundation legal skills, including drafting, negotiation and project management skills, people management and business development skills
  • You will also need to be a bright self-starter looking for a challenge, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.

It's likely that the right candidate will have a genuine interest in, and enthusiasm for, innovation, technology and branding. A full job description will be available on application. This position is a rare opportunity to grow your career as part of a top ranked, high profile team.
