Trainee Teaching Assistant

Engage Education are looking for Teaching Assistants to work in our partner schools based in Bradford and surrounding Areas for full time and part time roles.

If you don't have experience working as a Teaching Assistant, you may still have transferable skills. This role would be suitable for anyone that has worked as a support Worker, youth worker, nursing, social care or similar roles.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will help support groups of children with academic and personal development under the guidance of the class teacher. You will be working as part of an effective team to deliver an awe-inspiring curriculum that promotes resilience, independence and a love of learning. You may be supporting children with additional needs and supporting them to meet targets.

This role would suit anyone looking to progress into teaching or a career working with children.

Within the role you will be required to:

• Support and enthuse young learners to reach their potential

• React to children’s interests to offer a child centred approach

• Provide opportunities that will excite and ignite a passion for learning

• Deliver phonics sessions

• Work with small-guided groups and 1:1 to support children in reading and writing

Skills and attributes:

• Experience supporting children in EY, KS1 and /or KS2

• Cache Level 3 or equivalent experience in a similar setting

• KS1/KS2 SATs experience is advantageous

• Have empathy, patience and the drive to make a difference

• An observant and responsive approach

• A positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude
