Trainee Behaviour Mentor needed in Harrogate

This school is small and intimate provision where children's emotional development is put at the forefront of what they do. The school is a secondary provision for vulnerable children who have Behavioural Needs. The school is looking for extra support when extra cover is needed, both pastoral and supporting various classes around the school.

There will be full online training provided to enable you to have the confidence to support children and with a therapeutic perspective in mind. You will also gain in-school training and support.

Your Role

• Supporting a range of vulnerable children between the ages of 11-16 years
• Be able to appropriately calm children down, be intuitive and think on your feet
• Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
• Be available - Full time - 8.15am - 4pm

• Nurturing and compassionate manor
• Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
• You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
• Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
