Traffic Marshall - Portsmouth

An amazing opportunity to get into the Shipping Industry. We are assisting our client in recruiting for a Traffic Marshall, based onsite at the port of Portsmouth.

The Role:

Job tile: Traffic Marshall

Location: Portsmouth International Port - Site based

Job type: Temp with the potential to go Perm

Days/hours: Rotational shift pattern 40hrs per week

  • Week 1 - 06:00hrs - 14:00hrs
  • Week 2 - 15:00hrs - 23:00hrs
  • One in six weekends are required to be worked within the salary base.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • To inspect and report on the condition of all trailers and unaccompanied vehicles into and out of the Restricted Zone.
  • To ensure accurate completion of lane checks within the Restricted Zone post vessel departure for accurate reporting to Duty Manager, Port Authority and clients.
  • To produce detailed list of trailers and vehicles and their location on the Restricted Zone
  • Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of vehicles and motorbikes from the company car trailer.
  • To ensure that all daily logs are maintained accurately at the end of each shift.
  • Oversee and manage the preparation/completion of all paperwork relating to trailer/vehicle loading, accompanied and unaccompanied, ensuring that all legislative procedures are followed, and that paperwork is accurate.

Qualification/Experience required:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Physically fir to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • able to pass a DBS check - as working within Restricted Zones
  • Ability to communication efficiently both verbal/Written
