The hire will sit on the interest rates investment desk, exposed closely to a broad range of rates products extending to exotics (you sit completely separate to operations & finance), closely supporting industry leading Rates Portfolio Managers & Traders. Separate to BAU, you will work on key projects that enable the desks to trade new products, manage live/daily trading issues, better benchmark themselves against the wider market, critically understand their P&L etc. You can also expect to work closely to the tech team, building new tools for the investment teams.

A hire with VBA or Python skills will work on key automation projects from day one. Alternatively, you will have the opportunity to learn both coding languages. That said, project managing the tech team is the primary focus for infrastructure development initiatives.

The role is available as the current incumbent is moving internally into a trading position - previous members of the wider TA team have made similar moves (+ a TA recently internally moved into a junior PM role). Similar progression opportunities are possible for a high performer.

Candidates should have roughly 3-10yrs relevant experience in a middle office / TA function. Candidates must be from a strong Rates / IRD / exotics background. Advanced tech skills are very useful. The front office team prefer to hire a TA with a very strong academic record.

The role can pay up to a £100k base salary. Bonuses make up a large % of base for top performers.
