Assistant Production Engineer

The Opportunity

Due to expansion of the business, we are looking to appoint an Assistant Production Engineer to join the existing office team.

As Assistant Production Engineer, you will be responsible for

  • Producing in production check sheets.
  • Printing job cards for all new jobs ready for distribution onto factory floor.
  • Populating tool lists including gauges and work holding.
  • Manage stock within the cage to ensure existing tooling is being used prior to ordering new tooling.
  • Control the inventory of job samples to ensure we have samples for all new work. Update past work with new samples.
  • Order tooling for new jobs, monitor relationships with tooling suppliers to ensure spending efficiencies.
  • Monitor stock levels in the vending machines and re-order when appropriate.
  • Arrange regrinding of tools.
  • Other business tasks and projects as necessary.

You will need to be proficient in running and setting CNC machines with a good knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes. You must have good IT skills and be able work with tooling suppliers. The ability to use CAD is beneficial.

  • Salary - 30-32k per annum
  • Hours - Mon-Fri 7am-4pm
  • Flexitime (1hr each way)
  • 34 days annual leave
  • Production bonus - paid twice a year (maximum 10% of salary after 12 months)
  • Enhanced sick pay after 12 months
  • Enhanced paternity and maternity
