Test & Validation Engineer

Test & Validation Engineer - Peterborough - Up to £36/hr - Inside IR35 - 12 month initial contract

Have you got experience working with off-highway vehicle/machine testing and integration? Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Test & Validation Engineer to join one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

You will be involved in a variety of engine installation and test projects for off-highway machines and generator sets, primarily covering mechanical and electrical engine-to-machine integration, shakedown, and testing. 

As a Test & Validation Engineer, you will:

• Effectively manage several projects simultaneously.
• Operate a multitude of different vehicles, including excavators, back-hoe loaders, telehandlers and track-type tractors.
• Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both engine and machine.
• Work from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical and hydraulic).
• Travel to various off site test and development facilities.

To apply for this Test & Validation Engineer role, you will need formal education in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical or mechanical or equivalent experience. You will also require the following:

• Demonstrable high level of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical/electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of engines and machines.
• A good understanding of instrumentation and its application.
• Good experience and knowledge of how to test machines in field.
• The ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the workgroup, as well as employees in other business units, customers, and suppliers.
