Tenancy Support Worker

Tenancy Support Workers required in Greater Manchester on a full-time basis with temp to perm opportunities available after 12-16 weeks. Our client provides a supported housing service for individuals with low-level needs across the region, and are looking for candidates who hold a valid driving licence & are able to commute between their dispersed properties throughout the day to support clients with tenancy sustainment and independent living skills.

Your new role

• Processing and assessing possible admissions into the accommodation, advising on short-hold tenancy agreements and rights & responsibilities as a tenant.
• Undertake pre-admission inspections of properties and voids, and regular room inspections of current tenants.
• Regularly reviewing support plans and risk assessments with an allocated caseload of tenants.
• Ensure tenants remain up to date with weekly service charges, and chasing up any arrears.
• Investigating and resolving complaints and issues relating to low level anti-social behaviour.
• Updating tenants on the progress of repairs being carried out and logging any repair requirements.
• Liaising with external agencies on behalf of tenants, such as Social Services, GP's, Home Office, Health Visitors and DWP.
• Providing advice and guidance on welfare benefits, and supporting with applications where appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum 6 months' experience working with vulnerable individuals who may be facing homelessness, asylum seekers/refugees, mental health, substance/alcohol misuse, ex-offenders
• Experience of lone working and the ability to make decisions on your own initiative
• Experience of risk assessing individuals and ascertaining needs
• Knowledge of welfare & housing benefit system
• Driving licence with access to your own vehicle, and ability to commute across Greater Manchester to dispersed properties on a daily basis
• Enhanced Adult DBS
