Temporary Student Adviser // 6 Months

As a Student Adviser, you'll be instrumental in providing top-tier advisory services to learners, staff, and visitors. Your role will encompass a wide array of responsibilities, including delivering outstanding customer service, managing financial support queries, and offering career guidance. This role is fully office based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries across various communication channels, ensuring exceptional customer service at all times
  • Provide personalised support to students through drop-in sessions and one-on-one consultations
  • Proactively identify and address data errors to maintain accurate records for funding purposes
  • Assist with general enrolment queries and support face-to-face enrolment services when necessary
  • Manage financial support inquiries, process applications, and monitor payment plans.
  • Offer career guidance to students or refer them to external career organisations
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and service usage, adhering to GDPR policies
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and escalate as required
  • Participate in training sessions to share knowledge and skills with colleagues

Required:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to remain professional and assertive.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with student bursary and fund management systems.
  • Knowledge of library management systems and course funding guidelines.
  • Experience with enrolment procedures and administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Ability to utilise social media platforms for communication and promotion.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
