The Burford Recruitment Company is seeking a Temporary Exam Administrator to join our client for the upcoming exam period. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of examinations and maintaining the integrity of the assessment processes.
Responsibilities
- Familiarise yourself with the I.C.E. document to understand the UK exam system thoroughly.
- Assist and support the Exams Manager in managing daily tasks related to the summer public exam season.
- Ensure that all exams are conducted per the regulations set by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).
- Help in securely downloading necessary exam papers from exam board secure websites for students using reading software.
- Securely download sound files from exam board secure websites for relevant exams.
- Make sure that all exam accommodations are set up according to the specified requirements.
- Help the exam invigilators in setting up the exam rooms.
- Handle any unexpected issues or irregularities that may arise and could impact the conduct of examinations.
- Help in ensuring that all exams start promptly at their scheduled times.
- Gather information regarding absent students from each exam room.
- Contact absent students if required
- Provide supervision for students with exam clashes as necessary.
- Assist the Exams Manager in securely storing and dispatching exam scripts for marking.
- Create a dispatch list for Parcelforce for each exam day.

- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive relationships and effective communication with colleagues, students, and other stakeholders.
- Skilled in using various software applications for administrative tasks, data management, and communication.
- Excellent ability to organise tasks, set priorities, and allocate time effectively to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and precision in completing tasks to maintain accuracy and quality of work.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and productive when faced with tight deadlines or challenging situations.
- Adaptability to changing circumstances and willingness to adjust priorities or approaches as needed to achieve objectives.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, taking initiative, and making decisions autonomously as required.
