Overview of the role:

As the Technology Business Unit Director, you will spearhead the establishment and growth of a newly formed Strategic Business Unit (SBU) identified as a pivotal initiative within the Group. This role demands a proactive approach in expanding and managing the business unit, significantly contributing to the overall performance of the company. You’ll have full strategic plan and P&L responsibility for their technology business globally.

Key Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Assume direct P&L ownership and operational control of the SBU from end-to-end to achieve agreed revenue growth and EBITDA objectives.
  • Provide leadership for the SBU teams that includes sales, account management, business development, product/services development, and marketing.
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy that considers market shifts and customers’ future needs - own, manage and execute the product roadmap.
  • Take charge of the SBUs revenue goals. Develop and forecast commercial goals, aiming to improve the sales cycle, funnel management, average deal size and overall revenue.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other companies global functions (Operations/Finance/People Team/Digital etc) to leverage all tools and resources available to support in driving the growth of the SBU.
  • Proactively and visibly lead our global field sales effort, fostering direct relationships with our major prospects and customers.
  • Partner with our EMEA and US Key Accounts team to develop and implement customer strategies for our highest potential clients.
  • Actively participate in internal events, influencing team events and company briefs.
  • Lead the technology product category strategy, identify growth opportunities and customer needs, driving innovation to maximise opportunities.
  • Foster an entrepreneurial spirit within a high-performance culture.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years international direct SaaS sales leadership experience before moving into a broader leadership role with P&L responsibility.
  • Experience of systems (Hardware & Software combined) rather than pure Software preferred.
  • A successful track record of strategising and growing profitable businesses targeting enterprise customers, with an entrepreneurial mindset and dynamic execution.
  • Organised and structured in thought and approach with the ability to implement systems and processes to bring structure to a team and to drive projects to reliable positive outcomes.
  • An understanding of the complexities of managing and growing an international technology solutions business. Experience in our key target geographies (US and Europe) is a strong plus.
  • Will have the gravitas, charisma, and knowledge to be credible in all business situations The credibility and commercial maturity necessary to lead meetings at the highest level internally, within customers and major global partners.
  • Entrepreneurial and pioneering with outstanding strategic and conceptual thinking skills - the ability to lead, not just follow, the market.
  • A pragmatic approach, comfortable under the pressure of change and moving targets.
  • Strong technical mindset, with the ability to direct and lead technology product development functions.
  • Strong leadership, strong decision-making skills, leads by example but is also open and collaborative.
  • A proven track record of developing individuals and teams through metrics driven performance management and coaching.
