Technical Support Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Purchasing and Sales Engineer to join a fantastic company based in Colchester. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their career in international trade and Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) purchasing. You will be working in a fast-paced office environment, engaging with vendors and customers to ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain.

• Researching and liaising with potential vendors to source MRO spare parts.
• Obtaining and comparing pricing from suppliers, negotiating on price and terms of business.
• Preparing and issuing quotations for customers.
• Placing and managing purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery to meet customer needs.
• Coordinating with the warehouse and logistics team to guarantee quality and punctual deliveries.
• Engaging in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
• Providing general customer service and maintaining excellent supplier and customer relations.

• Demonstrable confidence, strong work ethic, and experience in a related role.
• Excellent telephone and communication skills for effective supplier and customer interactions.
• Technical knowledge of Valves, flame arrestors, Tank Protection, Failsafe Equipment, Metering systems, Pipes, Seals, Gaskets, and Process Water Treatment is advantageous.
• Experience in Engineering or Logistics industries is beneficial.
• Foreign language skills are desirable but not essential.
