REED Procurement & Supply Chain are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, manufacturing client who is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their fast-growing business.

The Estimator will be responsible for dealing with various sales inquiries (UK) for Fire Alarm systems including preparing the project offers/Quotations, and supporting information such as cover letters, compliance statements, System Designs, equipment details, and system of operation documents.

Working closely with other Internal Sales Engineers, External Sales Engineers, and various other departments to ensure client requirements are dealt with efficiently, whilst ensuring business deadlines and requirements are achieved.

Based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands.

Main duties and responsibilities are:



• Full System Design. (Fire Alarm)

• Detailed and accurate Quantifying.

• Use of Excel and our in-house IFS Software.

• Estimating of Complete working systems.

• Margin Reviews.

• Occasional Site Surveys, sometimes with overnight stays.

• Completing Formal Tenders from Clients (Ownership of the Tender).

• Presenting Offers to Clients.

• Presenting Margin Summaries and Technical Project info to work colleagues.

• Research work, to include phone calls and emails etc.

• Technical Submission Documents for projects.

• Offer excellent customer service.

• Promote excellent working standards and customer practices.



The ideal candidate will:



• Knowledge of BS5839

• Experience of providing designs for fire systems within the construction industry.

• Knowledge of fire related products.

• English GCSE (or Equivalent)

• Maths GCSE (or Equivalent)

• Communication & Liaising with clients, contractor’s internal teams and other trades.

• Completing tasks unaided.

• Ability to manage own work

• Working in a busy department whilst maintaining a very high level of accuracy and service.

• Experience of working with customers.

• Utilise Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

• Assimilate the company’s products and IT management system.

• Converse with a diverse range of people (Internal and external clients).

• Effectively communicate in writing to clients (Internal & External).

• Ability to work under pressure and have a positive and determined attitude to achieve the department's objectives.

• Excellent organisational & customer liaison skills.

• Ability to work hours to suit the requirements of the job and change/adapt to meet changing requirements.

• Current driving licence.

Training will be provided.
