We are looking for an experienced Supervisor to ensure the efficient Technical Cleaning of the Lathallan recycling plant under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. In this "hands on" supervisory role, the successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work with a "no compromise" attitude to health and safety.

As the ideal Technical Cleaning Supervisor, you will have experience in managing people and basic knowledge of maintaining a processing plant in a manufacturing environment. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in working within a permitted system, preferably with knowledge of waste processing; however, training and development will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills and aptitude to take on this challenging role.

This Technical Cleaning Supervisor position requires a good level of communication and operational skills to liaise with the Maintenance Manager and the shift team members to aid the shift team in meeting the department and company targets with regards to quality, health & safety, and environmental compliance.

Main duties include:
  • Work closely with and supervise the Technical Cleaning team to maximise performance. Through good communication, ensure all employees understand their duties and delegated tasks. Provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the site management team in a timely manner.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other operational Areas as required to meet the company's objectives.
  • Attend company meetings as required.
  • Carry out team toolbox talks/ team briefs in line with Company requirements and standards.
  • Coordinate personnel to ensure all in ternal and external cleaning tasks are completed in a safe manner.
  • Monitor and organise personnel requirements to ensure the correct level of staff is in place at all times.
  • Oversee sub-contractors to ensure that they complete all the required tasks within a set timescale and adhere to all health and safety standards.
  • Command and control of the site over weekend working.
  • Collate, monitor and record key data.
  • Develop a culture of health and safety, ensuring compliance with companies' Health and safety systems, challenge unsafe acts and promote continual improvement.
  • Responsible for producing department risk assessments and standard operating procedures for review and sign-off by the Maintenance Manager
Essential Skills
  • An awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Experience as a supervisor and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • The ability to operate machinery in a safe manner.
  • Experience working in a factory - process environment.
  • Full driving licence.
Desirable Skills
  • IOSH managing safely or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the waste/recycling industry.
  • Experience in a regulated environment.
  • Accreditation with any of the following:
      • NVQ
      • NPORS
      • MPQC
      • CSCS
