Role Overview:

• Oversee the procurement process for a designated range of products, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
• Implement sourcing protocols and serve as a liaison between suppliers and the organisation regarding specifications and financial parameters.
• Demonstrate proficiency in purchasing and sourcing principles.
• Monitor industry trends and supplier performance.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and operational streamlining.
• Generate regular updates and reports for senior management.
• Engage in contract negotiations, pursue cost efficiencies, and explore avenues for financial savings.
• Assess and appraise suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and implementing performance enhancement initiatives.
• Uphold professional standards in all supplier interactions, adhering to company protocols and procurement policies.

Experience and Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of purchasing a range of goods and materials
• An understanding of technical CAD drawings is essential.
• Effective negotiator and communicator.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and MS Office.
• Knowledge of Sage software would be an advantage but is not an essential.
• Self-motivated.
• Driven and able to set personal targets for supplier improvements.
• Full UK driving licence.
