Technical Artist | Indie Game Studio | Onsite near Cambridge | Up to 65K

I am working with an Indie Game Developer based outside of Cambridge, who specialise in creating immersive, story-driven RPGs.

They are looking for a Unity Technical Artist to join their team and create optimised art assets for an upcoming game. As this is a new IP, you will have a lot of creative freedom and the chance to make a big impact straight away.

Main responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with programmers, designers and the Art Director to develop high quality art assets
  • Optimise shader functionality, lighting, and special effects in Unity
  • Create assets including modelling, texturing and animation
  • Ensure that art meets both the high visual quality required and performance target
  • Build Asset pipelines and workflows and ensure effective and efficient production
  • Ensure the assets work well with game mechanics and design and troubleshoot issues

What you will need:
  • Circa 2 years' experience as a Technical Artist within a commercial environment
  • Ideally 2 years experience in Unity
  • Commercial experience creating shaders, lighting and special effects in Unity
  • Experience art applications such as Maya, Blender, Substance or similar
  • Passion for gaming
