Join us in Barnsley as a Social Work Team Manager within our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. We are offering an attractive hourly rate of £45 per hour for this crucial managerial position.

About Us:
Located in the vibrant town of Barnsley, our organization is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. Our MASH team plays a pivotal role in coordinating multi-agency responses to safeguarding concerns and ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals across the borough.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Social Work Team Manager in our MASH team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing strong leadership and management oversight to a team of dedicated social workers and support staff.
  • Overseeing the triage, assessment, and allocation of incoming safeguarding referrals, ensuring timely responses and appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborating closely with partner agencies, including police, health services, education, and housing, to facilitate information sharing and joint decision-making.
  • Conducting regular case reviews, performance evaluations, and supervision sessions to support staff development and ensure the quality of practice.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for complex cases and providing expert advice and guidance to frontline practitioners.
  • Representing the MASH team in multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings as required.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of MASH processes, policies, and procedures to enhance service delivery and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Substantial experience working in a safeguarding or child protection setting, with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a social work context, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and empower staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery and practice.
