Domus Recruitment are working with our client based in Wiltshire that are looking for a Team Leader to oversee their residential service supporting service users with Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities and Autism. You will be required to provide leadership and direction to support staff while reporting to the Nursing Deputy Manager.

Key Responsibilities of a Team Leader:

  • Undertake and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Support Staff.
  • Be responsible in supporting the Registered Services Manager in the delivery of high-quality care and support.
  • Lead and direct the staff team to support individual’s with complex communication needs and a range of physical and learning difficulties.
  • Promote positive communication to enable the individual to achieve their hopes, goals and aspirations, maximising the individual’s quality of life and minimising their behaviours of concern.
  • Support the emotional, spiritual, physical, medical wellbeing and the material needs of the individual within their own home.
  • Be responsible for ensuring compliance is set out in line with CQC guidelines.
  • Report any adverse medication effect or any deterioration in any individual’s well-being to the appropriate medical professionals, and the Registered Manager.
  • Carry out all activities relating to individuals physical, personal, emotional and social wellbeing, as outlined in their Support Plans using a person-centred approach
  • Supervise and deploy staff in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Encourage open communication between team members.

Requirements:
  • Have previous experience in a management role (preferably in the learning disabilities sector) and be a strong staff manager.
  • Ideally have a level 3 Diploma in Care (or in the process of completing)
  • Supervisory experience within a residential care setting.
  • Knowledge of the need of individuals with Learning Disabilities, would be a distinct advantage.
  • Full driver’s license is also an advantage.
