Salary: £13.71 per hour

Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 830 boys’ study at Harrow and live in the School’s 12 boarding houses. Employees particularly value the School’s beautiful green estate, the positive working environment, and good relationships with their colleagues.

Harrow School Enterprises Limited (HSEL) is responsible for the operation of Harrow School Fitness Club, including state-of-the art performance and fitness suites, a 25-metre pool, and a four-court sports hall. In addition, the club manages external sports facility hire, including the athletics track, cricket nets and Astroturf pitches.

The Team Leader will be responsible for the on-shift operation of the club, under the direction of the Deputy Sports Centre Manager. This role will encompass supervision of the facilities during both School and public use. Some weekend work will be required.

This role will suit a candidate with minimum of one year’s experience of working in the leisure industry and a current NPLQ, although the latter is not essential. The position would be ideal for someone looking to move into their first supervisory role in the leisure industry and who would enjoy being part of the life of our vibrant and historic School.

It is an especially good role for those who would like the option to develop in other areas of the fitness environment, as there is flexibility to work in our gymnasium, or to pick up some lifeguard experience - training will be provided. There is also an opportunity for those with a swimming instructor or fitness teaching qualification to pay a nominal fee to use the facilities to conduct their own private lessons.

Benefits include free lunch, automatic enrolment in the School’s pension scheme, use of the School’s sports facilities and subsidised membership of the tennis, golf, angling and social clubs.

Application packs are available from the School’s website or by contacting the HR department. Click on 'Apply’ for more details.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all successful applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with any past employer and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Harrow School is an equal opportunities employer.
