We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for Science to join an all-through special school for boys aged 5-18 years old. The school, set in the idyllic West Sussex countryside, is renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities and commitment to the safety, physical, and emotional wellbeing of pupils. We provide a nurturing environment that supports the individual needs of students.
Interviews for successful candidates will be conducted after the May half-term. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for practitioners looking to establish a long-term position with the potential for career development and salary progression.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work with children who have complex emotional needs, ensuring de-escalation before disruption.
- Maintain positive relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary.
- Understand how pupils learn and meet their individual requirements.
- Support the delivery of Science education, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and classroom organisation.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student progress and provide targeted support.
- Engage with pupils to build a community and act as a positive role model.
- Experience working with children, especially those with complex emotional needs.
- Ability to support Science education for students throughout KS3 and KS4.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain good relationships with pupils.
- A genuine level of care and desire to help students thrive.
- A driving licence is essential due to the rural location of the school.
