You will be working closely with the Key stage 3 lead and will actively be involved in helping to develop individual student plans that allow students need to be met on a case by case basis. The needs of the students vary from mild autism to completely nonverbal so a wide variety of experiences would be beneficial for someone taking on this role.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students' academic progress and personal development, working closely with teachers and SENCO to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. With a heavy emphasis on qualifications and expertise, we are seeking candidates who possess:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a solid foundation in educational theory and practice.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably with students aged 11-16, and a strong understanding of classroom dynamics and student support strategies.
  • Proficiency in literacy and numeracy, with the ability to provide targeted support to students in these areas and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a proactive approach to supporting teachers and students in a variety of classroom settings and activities.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to continuous professional development, with a desire to contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning practices within the school.
