Teaching Assistant - Slough

Engage Education is currently working with a Primary School based in Slough, the school is looking to take on multiple specialist teaching assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs.

This role is to start as soon as possible and will be supporting students with Autism and Emotional needs which has a negative impact on behaviour. This role is to support the student on a one-to-one basis for the entirety of the academic year and beyond. This role is to be the student's mentor each day in school and provide them with support both in and out of the classroom.

About the role:

The needs of the pupils they cater to range from:

  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health

  • Autism - ASC - ASD

  • MLD

  • Sensory learning

This is a full-time, permanent role!

  • Experience working with students from a challenging background is a must.

  • Those who have experience professionally or personally working with those on the Autistic spectrum should apply

  • The application should have a strong understanding of the challenges facing those with Social, Emotional Mental Health issues.

  • Those with direct experience supporting young people with Mental Health issues

  • You may have a background in a similar school, residential setting, or with social work or youth work

  • Have a positive mindset, flexible approach, and a can-do attitude

  • Candidates with Team Teach or MAPA trainer are highly encouraged to apply
