A lovely primary school in Enfield are looking for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their school in ASAP to support a child in Year 4 with challenging behaviour.

The Role

In this role you will be supporting a year 4 child on a 1:1 basis. The boy is bright and academically capable but frequently displays challenging behaviour and can be tricky to manage. When dysregulated this young boy can becoming physical towards staff so the school are looking for someone with restraint experience and the ability and willingness to remain calm and positive to be able to calm refocus the child.

You will be class based but will need to take the child out for movement breaks and re-focussing.

The school are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant who:

  • has lots of experience with SEMH
  • restraint experience
  • is physically mobile
  • is confident, resilient and patient
  • Can commit to the position until at least December

The school has an experienced leadership team in place and there is good support for staff working within the school.
