SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support in primary schools across Kent. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to transition into an educational setting and who possess a positive and patient demeanour, especially those with experience working with children from a SEN background.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Support students with additional needs, including ADHD, ASC, OCD, PMLD, MLD, or others, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
  • Assist in the development and adaptation of resources and lesson materials to support young people’s understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to support students, particularly those with an Educational Health Care Plan.
  • Provide both one-to-one assistance and lead small group sessions and interventions as required.
  • Support the teacher in assessing students through activities, providing feedback on student achievement, progress, and ongoing needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role.
  • Engaging and positive presence in the classroom.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a range of students.
  • Experience in managing and being responsible for your own workload.
  • A patient and understanding approach to supporting children with SEN.
