teaching assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support in one of our PR3 schools. Our client is a single form entry community Primary school, where pupils and staff are well supported and happy. If you are currently working as a TA in a primary setting and wish to develop your career by supporting the teaching of pupils and gaining more responsibility then we would like to hear from you. The role is Monday to Friday 8:30am-12:30pm wc 15th April until the end of the summer term.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Hardworking and reflective, with a 'can-do' attitude
• Adaptable to supporting the teaching of year 4 and 5 pupils
• Able to support a range of learning activities that are matched appropriately to year groupexpectations.
• Organised with excellent communication skills
• Willing to make a positive contribution to the life of the school
• Flexible, adaptable, a good communicator, cheerful, calm and work as part of the team

The duties and responsibilities of this role will be as follows:

• Reading, writing and SPAG support.
• Adjusting or breaking down activities to support participation and understanding.
• Develop a supportive relationship with the child that promotes self esteem and confidence.
• To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional and behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
• Monitor and maintain records of the pupils progress.
• To assist with general school duties which may include setting up classrooms, preparing resources and displays and tidying and clearing away
• Supervision of children during lunch times and Supervision of children entering and leaving school premise
• Must be an outgoing individual with an ability to engage with pupils to have FUN while learning
