Draig recruitment requires a full-time ALN Teaching Assistant on behalf of a special school in Denbighshire. This is a large well-resourced special needs school with two sites, catering for children ages 3-19 with autism and complex needs. Our client is seeking applicants who are friendly and compassionate to help others with additional learning needs.

This role is to start asap full-time or part-time between Monday and Friday 8:30-3:30, £80 per day.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • Experience working with children or young people

  • Experience of supporting children or young people with autism and complex needs

  • Knowledge of EHCP’s (Educational Health Care Plans) and supporting students in achieving their learning goals.

  • Promote a positive and nurturing environment for students, fostering their personal and social development

  • Be supportive, sensitive and resilient in managing challenging situations

  • Ability to use de-escalation techniques

Additional requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • References confirming suitability for role

  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willing to apply

  • EWC registration or willing to apply

  • Safeguarding training or willing to take a free course with us
