Teaching Assistant

We are seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in Wakefield as a Teaching Assistant. The school serves pupils aged 11 to 16, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide targeted support to pupils, individually or in small groups, especially those with additional learning needs.
  • Encourage the development of pupils’ social, emotional, and life skills within a nurturing learning environment.
  • Uphold positive behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies.
  • Collaborate with staff and external agencies to enhance student learning and welfare.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of recent experience in a Teaching Assistant capacity.
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo the process.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A flexible, reliable, and dedicated approach to supporting education.
