As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will be able to support learners aged 5-11 with their academic learning, as well as aiding their social, emotional and physical development. Our partnership schools across Hertfordshire are looking for inspiring individuals to join their team from April 2024- does this sound like the role for you?

Our Ofsted rated 'outstanding' partnership schools in Watford, Rickmansworth + Abbots Langley are excited to welcome a full-time teaching assistant like you to their team, starting on a temporary basis until the end of term, with opportunities to undertake a permanent role from September 2024. This role will be working in a small group basis, supporting teams of pupils, and on occasion a 1:1 basis. You will be expected to follow teacher directed planning to support learners, completing reading and mathematics interventions, alongside general classroom activities. In addition to your role as an academic mentor, a teaching assistant should also be part of aiding a child's social and emotional development, and will be part of their development throughout their school journey.

Your Teaching Assistant responsibilities & requirements:

  • Work with children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support their learning
  • Be a positive role model for students and staff
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with children and their families
  • Work together with other members of staff, including specialists
  • Support the class teacher with preparing resources and setting up activities
  • 10 year work history + 2 references
  • Grade C (or equivalent qualification) in English and Maths
  • An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
