We are seeking a nurturing TA to join one of our most flourishing mainstream secondary schools in south east London. The role would require you to support pupils in a group setting. Some of the pupils have special education needs (i.e ASD ADHD or SEMH). The school has strong supporting team who strives to be the best in every aspect of education, facilitating a network of dedicated staff who want to make a difference to young pupils future.

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary

Location: South East London

Contract: Full time

Start: ASAP

Rate: £95-105

Ideal Candidate:

  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies
  • Supervising and supporting a child with mild ADHD as a 1:1
  • Supporting with behaviour management
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals
  • Establishing good relationships with children, acting as a role model
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours
  • Safeguarding experience
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
