Teaching Assistant Job-Year 1, Maternity Cover- Up to £14 ph

This job is for a fixed term maternity cover, in a Year 1 class. The job role hours are Monday to Friday- 7.45 - 16.00 for 3 or 4 days a week, and 1 day, 7.45- 17.45, to support their after-school club. The school is easily accessible from Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick, Coventry and Kenilworth.

Your new role
Within your new role, you will be assisting the class teacher, and supporting a class of Year 1 pupils. The role will be classroom based, helping to ensure the children are engaged well with the learning set out for them. You will be expected to work to follow the teachers\' plan, and be able to work to your own initiative within the day. You will be required to carry out small group interventions with pupils, focusing on different subjects such as phonics and maths.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position, you will need

• At least 40 days of relevant experience working with children within the past 2 year, and have a good understanding of the curriculum.
• You must be flexible and supportive towards the children's needs, and be able to work to your initiative throughout the day and assist the class teacher whenever needed.
• All teaching assistants are required to support 1 after-school club until 17.45.
