Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Teacher of Physics, Engineering and Applied Science at our Worthing campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,189 - £40,839 Per Annum.

This post also includes an additional Market Supplement of £3,161 per annum, subject to the Group Market Supplement Policy

The Teacher of Physics, Engineering and Science role:

Are you an experienced and passionate physics, engineering or science professional looking to inspire the next generation? Due to a retirement, an opportunity has arisen to join the outstanding STEM department at Worthing College who are seeking a Teacher of Physics, Engineering and Applied Science to help shape our students’ future careers in these essential industries.

Our Teacher of Physics, Engineering and Applied Science will be enthusiastic and innovative, with a love for teaching and learning and a willingness to continually develop their own skills. Your expertise and enthusiasm will ignite our students’ passion for the subjects, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in this ever-evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities of ourTeacher of Physics, Engineering and Science:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
  • Undertaking the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Our ideal Teacher of Physics, Engineering and Science should have the below skills and experience:

  • Education to degree level in relevant subject
  • A Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education
  • Up-to-date interest in the field of science
  • Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
  • Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • To obtain an appropriate teaching qualification as defined by the Corporation
