Teacher of ICT and Computing KS3 - KS4

About the Role -

This is a full-time role in which you will be expected to deliver well-planned lessons and strong behaviour management. The school’s vision is to develop well-rounded citizens through a balanced curriculum, and requires a dynamic teacher who can think on their feet and tailor their lessons to the needs of the pupils. The school itself is only a short commute from centre and therefore benefits from excellent public transport links. This is a permanent contract starting in September 2024.

Job Description -

    • To facilitate and encourage inspirational learning experiences in Computing and ICT which provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and attainment.
    • Where appropriate to teach other subjects within the Computing/ICT and Business Curriculum Area.
    • To make effective and creative use of ICT as a teaching tool and a learning medium.
    • To highlight the contribution that learning in Computing and ICTcan make to the provision of SMSC and the development of British Values across the school.
    • To contribute to the organization of school journeys and trips to broaden understanding of different economic and work contexts.

Training and Qualifications -

  • To teach Computing and ICTacross key stages, and where appropriate to KS5.
  • Where appropriate to teach other subjects within the Computing/ICT and Business Curriculum Area.
  • To make effective and creative use of ICT as a teaching tool and a learning medium.
  • To highlight the contribution that learning in Computing and ICTcan make to the provision of SMSC and the development of British Values across the school.
  • To contribute to the organization of school journeys and trips to broaden understanding of different economic and work contexts.

Training and Qualifications -

  • Agooddegree in computer science, maths or associated academic discipline.
  • Evidence of further study.
  • Specific expertise and skills in teaching Computer Science, Computing and ICT to at least KS4, with the ability or experience to teach at KS5.
  • QTS
  • Evidence of teaching in more than one Key Stage.
  • Evidence of sustained professional development;
  • The ability to teach Economics at Key Stage 5 (A level) would be desirable.
