Prospero Teaching are looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic Teacher of Design & Technology with an additional teaching and learning responsibility (TLR) to join our growing and successful team at the technical college. They are seeking to develop capacity for design and technology within the engineering faculty. The facilities for design and technology teaching are amongst the best in the country and the team is ably supported by an expert technician.

- Promoting outstanding achievement at all levels
- Working closely with university and employer partners to deliver a curriculum that addresses the disconnect between industry and education, specifically in the local context
- Implementing an Engineering curriculum that will provide students with a competitive edge in the employment market or university application process
- Accelerating learning for students at KS4, particularly the most able students who haven't been stretched and challenged at KS3
- Contributing to delivery of a post 16 design and technology curriculum that stretches both academic and technically minded students, as well as developing softer skills, ensuring that students are career ready
- Outstanding teaching and learning being at the heart of driving successful outcomes for students

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Warrington
  • Position - Design and Technology
  • Type of work - Covering classes in absence of a Class Teacher
  • Start date - ASAP
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Full time/part time - Part time
  • Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £120 per day
  • Hours - 8:15 am - 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recent Graduate, with a 2:1 or higher
  • PGCE in desired role
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Previous experience working in a leadership role
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
  • Up to date Prevent training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references covering the last 2 years
