Our Client a very successfully and expanding accountancy practice with several offices throughout the region are currently on the lookout for a Taxation Associate to join their team
The Role-Taxation Associate
This opportunity would be based within the small, friendly tax team in Durham where training and encouragement will be given. Our tax team is involved in the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of some of the most wealthy and exciting entrepreneurial businesses across our region.

The Roles
  • Prepare income, P11D, and corporation tax returns from a variety of systems including CCH, Iris, and Taxshield
  • Prepare dividend paperwork.
  • Prepare small rental and sole trader accounts.
  • Research basic tax planning issues
  • Action queries raised by colleagues on the draft tax returns and computations.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and colleagues for ad hoc queries
  • Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs on a variety of matters including PAYE coding notices and tax refunds.
  • Preparation of corporation tax reminder letters for review
  • Assisting in the onboarding of new clients including registration with HM Revenue & Customs

The Person
  • ATT qualified or part qualified.
  • Recent general practice background, with exposure to accounts, audit, and/or tax.
  • Be willing to learn and have the enthusiasm to pursue a career in tax.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone, and by email.
  • Must have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel.
  • The ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detail.
  • The ability to judge differing situations and respond accordingly.
  • Be able to demonstrate your initiative to solve problems.
  • Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
