Goldhawk Associates are working to support a regional firm of accountants based in Tenterden to appoint a Tax Senior to their team. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their team. The role will support the Partners and you will work closely with them to support them in their tax offering, helping the team with tax compliance for clients (personal and Trusts) and assisting partners and the team with general tax matters, some review, and problem solving/answer finding. This is a varied role and will include working over a multitude of taxes, but mainly income tax and CGT for individuals and trusts, as well as IHT. It is key that you are confident in problem solving and identifying tax issues to then research and resolve.

They are looking for an ATT or CTA qualified accountant with experience in tax advisory, compliance, and planning. In turn, there is flexibility in the level of experience they will consider and they can also offer additional training, where needed. You will work closely with the tax partner on client facing compliance, and some tax planning projects and advisory work.

You will be responsible for managing client relationships and have a lot of client engagement and be confident in the areas of preparation of personal income tax returns, preparation of CGT returns, IHT planning, and some compliance work for personal and trusts

There will also be the opportunity to be involved in VAT, payroll taxes, Stamp Duty Land Tax, and Corporate Taxes, depending on your experience. You will be involved in working on projects, building the tax advisory offering for the firm, reviewing work, and developing junior members of staff and be an integral part of the team.

Candidates will ideally be
• ATT Qualified or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience in compliance
• Have experience using Iris Accounts Suite
• Motivated and adaptive to work remotely
• Confident with their IT skills

This is an opportunity for someone with experience or someone who is looking to further develop their experience with support and training given. There offer hybrid working of 2 days in the office and 3 days WFH and a strong ethos of work life balance. Part-time could be potentially considered.

Unfortunately, due to the high number of applications currently being received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
